Abu Dhabi Global Market and Start-Up Nation Central Partner to Nurture Ties Between the Emirati and Israeli Innovation Ecosystems
TEL AVIV, 7th September, 2022: Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Abu Dhabi’s leading international financial centre, and Tel Aviv-based non-profit organization Start-Up Nation Central announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance collaborations between the innovation ecosystems of Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
The MOU was signed by ADGM chairman H.E. Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi and Start-Up Nation Central CEO Avi Hasson and witnessed by UAE Ambassador to Israel H.E. Mohamed Al Khaja. Al Zaabi was in Israel this week leading a first-of-its-kind delegation of senior business executives from Abu Dhabi to explore commercial opportunities and drive strategic bilateral relations between the two countries in the wake of the historic Abraham Accords.
According to the agreement, the sides will work together to explore and promote collaboration and investment opportunities for companies in their respective ecosystems, and the opening of such companies’ commercial presence in ADGM and Israel. The sides will also consult with each other on matters relating to policy and funding with the goal of contributing to the general development of the innovation ecosystem in their respective countries.
Speaking of his delegation’s visit to Israel this week, Al Zaabi noted that “This delegation, the high-profile networking and the MOUs signed in the forum act as cornerstones to the expected unprecedented growth. We are excited to explore bilateral growth and investment opportunities through the joint efforts of our industry. We are confident that these collaborative efforts will help realize the true potential of the two markets when working together in unison.”
“Since the signing of the Abraham Accords, Start-Up Nation Central has made nurturing ties with the UAE one of its cornerstone missions. We believe in the potential of innovation to form solid international relations,” said Start-Up Nation Central CEO Avi Hasson. “Combining Israeli technologies with the Emirati innovative and entrepreneurial mindset, as strongly supported by ADGM, can further entrench business ties and though those deepen the people-to-people ties that form the foundation of bilateral relations. “
